This special issue of International Journal of Multiple Research Approaches (MRA) is dedicated to Mixed Methods for Novice Researchers. The issue will include papers on philosophies underpinning the use of multiple methods; examples of studies which have trialled a multiplicity of approaches; and problems and issues in combining various innovative approaches. Preference will be given to papers which help to set the benchmark for high quality research in this area and then ensure future submissions and research meet them.

The special issue aims to set a benchmark for design and application of multiple/mixed methods by both novice (Third year, Honours, Masters and PhD students) and experienced researchers. Papers are based on the experience, innovations and applications of recent and seasoned researchers who have captured the lessons learned, then communicated them here to students framing or starting their research proposals or projects.
