Overview

Bronwyn Ewing’s monograph documents an important research study into instruction that involves individualised intervention in early number learning. The resulting model for analyzing one-to-one teaching in the Maths Recovery Program is particularly suited for application in teacher development and training programs in early intervention. This study includes detailed descriptions and examples of teaching characteristics such as scaffolding, post-question wait-time, and questioning and prompting.
